University Of Mindanao – College Of Legal Education

The University of Mindanao College of Legal Education (UM-CLE), located on the university’s Bolton Campus along Bolton Street in Poblacion District, Davao City, is Mindanao’s flagship private law school. Part of the University of Mindanao — founded in 1946 by Atty. Guillermo E. Torres and today the largest private university in Mindanao — the CLE awards the Juris Doctor (JD) degree and is currently led by Dean Atty. Antonio B. Arellano, who assumed the post in January 2023.

The college holds PACUCOA accreditation and benefits from the university’s CHED Autonomous Status. Bar performance reflects the depth of the program: UM-CLE has recorded a 94% first-time taker passing rate in the Philippine Bar Examinations, and in the 2024 Bar Exams a UM-CLE graduate placed 7th nationwide with a score of 83.745%. The college also operates the UM Legal Advocacy Network (ULAN), a community extension program providing legal research and educational resources to underserved communities across Davao City and Davao del Sur.
