Philippine Bar Association

The Philippine Bar Association (PBA) is the oldest voluntary national organization of lawyers in the Philippines. It traces its origins to the Colegio de Abogados de Filipinas, organized in Manila on April 8, 1891, and was formally incorporated on March 27, 1958 as that body's direct successor; it has occupied its Makati office in Salcedo Village since 1988. Central to the PBA's mission is upholding the rule of law, and throughout its history it has taken public positions on judicial independence, human rights, and constitutional issues.
